Monday, Monday

Back to Monday already! Where did the weekend go?

Saturday was spent with a soccer game and a football game. Afterwards, the little guy and I ventured on a grocery shopping trip-somehow I actually totaled out under budget. We then went and purchased cornstalks to decorate outside for the beginning of the fall season. Somehow between all the running around and games, we both ended up taking a nap...like a two hour nap!!!

After going to church on Sunday we went by granny and gramps. The rest of the day was spent with me doing some yard work-this time cutting hedges-as well as a grandson being spoiled! Ending our day with a dinner prepared by gramps-shrimp scampi, weight watchers style.

I have to say I have been enjoying doing the yard work for my dad the last five weeks. As a parent we know how we want to provide/take care of our own children, however as an adult child I can not express the satisfaction I get by taking care of my parents. Granted, it is harder now as a single parent, but the emotion that I have felt knowing that I am giving back to them has simply been overwhelming.

That's awesome. I see my parents about 3 ~ 6 times a year. That means Little One gets to see them 3~6 times a year. That part is disappointing and always on my list to correct.

You are such an inspiration. I see strong single moms and really appreciate them. I can't be easy. I want to think you for your loving care of your child - it will mean the world to him when he is older. When things get rough, just know that it is for something and will not be wasted.

The weekends just aren't long enough, are they?

It's a great feeling being able to give back to your parents. Cherish them while you can.

What a beautiful loving weekend.

I was down in Illonios and Chicago this weekend. Was thinking how I love the suburbs. You actually have yards there :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog for a visit. I enjoyed coming here and reading about your life. The tooth fairy found out about inflation at our house too. LOL.

I remember when my dad could no longer mow his yard or work in the garden, it nearly killed him to hand that over to my son. It did feel good to be able to help in our in that way....He's gone now and I wish he were here.
