Friendship

The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines freindship as:

1 : "the state of being friends
2 : the quality or state of being friendly : FRIENDLINESS
3 : obsolete : AID"

What does it mean the state of being friends?

Let's look at that Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary for the definition of friend.

1 a : "one attached to another by affection or esteem b : ACQUAINTANCE
2 a : one that is not hostile b : one that is of the same nation, party, or group
3 : one that favors or promotes something (as a charity)
4 : a favored companion
5 : capitalized : a member of a Christian sect that stresses Inner Light, rejects sacraments and an ordained ministry, and opposes war -- called also Quaker"

First of all, for me an acquaintance is definitely different than a friend. I am definitely attached to my friends with affection. My friends are not hostile. We are the same in what we believe and what interests us. My friends and I promote and favor each other.

To me friendship is:
  • loving each other
  • being truthful to one another
  • making time for each other
  • talking and listening to one another
  • being thoughtful to each other
  • accepting one another

I'm sure there are plenty more values I could add to what I believe friendship is. I never knew how much I needed friendship or let's say, my girlfreinds, until I was going through my divorce. I thank you, my girlfriends, for giving me all of the above I needed during that time in my life. God has definitely blessed me with a handful of true friends.

I love all of you!!!

I must say, I feel as if I am developing a friendship with all of my new blogging friends. I love all of you too!
