Savoring the Last Days

I have gone through a little bit of stress as I have tried to savor these last few days of summer vacation.

Monday I was at school trying to help out with some schedule issues. Oh, the smell of freshly waxed floors!

I picked up my little guy later in the day and we went to soccer practice. Things were going well until bedtime. All of a sudden my sweet child was no longer the child I knew. Granted, this behavior has occurred in the past, however it was turned up about 60 notches. Hence, I didn't sleep well Monday evening which wasn't good because my father was having surgery early Tuesday morning. My mom was taking my dad to the hospital and I was on call. Later in the afternoon we were able to visit with Gramps. Surgery went well-thank you God. Fortunately, I was able to switch visitation nights with my little man's father so that we could go see Gramps, plus after the horrible night we had, there was no way I was letting my son out of my routine/rules or whatever you want to call it. I did speak to the ex about a couple of things, yet I'm not sure why I even bothered.

We made it to the water park today. Knowing that the days are numbered are making me miss it already. We never go on the weekends, however I might have to take advantage of that in the next couple of weeks.

I need to finish up with the party stuff. Enjoy the rest of your week.

I am happy to hear about your father.

Maybe your son is equally sad about the vacations coming to an end.
