I guess I tweet too much and play way too many games on Facebook.

The little guy has finished 2nd grade. I can't believe he is going to be a 3rd grader!!! Writing in cursive, reading so well, and did I mention he earned all A's in all his subjects every grading period!!! I am so proud of him. Baseball consumes us right now. Not only is he playing for the city, but he has been playing for a travel team as well. Hitting homeruns, catching fly balls, and pitching strikes--yes I am bragging because I am his mom!!!

Summer has been going good so far. We have taken advantage of free admission at the Adler Planetarium, Museum of Science and Industry, and the Shedd Aquarium. It has been a hot summer so far that we have spent time at the Waterpark. We love it!!!

Hope to write more this summer. Love you all.butterflygirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478785993576189511noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213851.post-13946804745273953562009-12-25T17:30:00.002-06:002009-12-25T17:35:34.884-06:00Merry Christmasbutterflygirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478785993576189511noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213851.post-42786094329694801022009-12-06T21:35:00.003-06:002009-12-06T21:54:14.012-06:00Oh how I miss my blogging peeps. I'm reading your blogs. I'm reading your tweets. And some of you, I'm keeping in touch with on facebook.

Life is busy.

My nephew of 7 months is still in the hospital. Born at only 23 weeks we hoped he would come home in September. Last month he had a tracheotomy and it would be a great Christmas if he could come home then. Medical bills have hit 1.5 million--it is so crazy.

My father had eye surgery late August which has restricted him from pretty much anything. He can't bend over, lift over 5 pounds, etc. Fortunately, the surgery has been successful and now the doctor wants to do the other eye.

School is going good for the little guy-straight A's! He's doing great in basketball, totally loving it.

Life is busy, but I'm loving it!butterflygirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478785993576189511noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213851.post-34466492727548536852009-11-18T11:31:00.003-06:002009-11-18T11:31:56.993-06:00TestSending a post from my phone.butterflygirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478785993576189511noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213851.post-81057709492739912082009-11-16T20:34:00.003-06:002009-11-16T20:43:27.583-06:00New PhoneI gave up my BlackBerry for the Motorola Cliq. I must admit, I envy those schools who start after Labor Day. It officially felt like the end of summer today as the little guy and I enjoyed our last time at the waterpark for the 2009 season. And oh, how I have missed it.

We are both into the swing of things with school. For someone being in the 2nd grade he sure keeps up with getting his homework done at school. It makes it easy for me to just check it each night and only worry about reading, spelling, and memory verse.

Football is going well too. We haven't won a game yet, however each week I see growth. The little guy got the wind knocked out of him Saturday-poor thing-but you should have seen the hit he made prior to him losing his air. Actually, you only needed to hear it. Hopefully he will be able to get some running time with the ball. He's had a hard time accepting a different position this year and not being in the spotlight. I think it is all good-learning and having fun-I'm definitely in the game.

I've been reading your blogs...not always commenting...but I know what's going on. Stay close~flygirl~butterflygirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478785993576189511noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213851.post-42555703443131891332009-08-27T23:04:00.005-05:002009-08-27T23:36:58.611-05:00Team MomBack in May the little guy decided he wasn't going to play football. It crushed me. He is such the athlete and he did so good when he played last year. But to the little guy, football is a lot of work. Practices begin August 1 and the players practice 10 hours a week. Beginning September 1 it drops down to 6 hours a week. I know football is time consuming and I know it has physical demands, but I just knew that if he didn't sign up that once he found out which of his friends were playing, he would want to play too and it would be too late.

We then found out his baseball coach was going to be one of the coaches. This is a coach that has coached the little guy in a couple of sports through the local Y and city. A coach who wants kids to learn and to have fun while learning. That's when the little guy decided to play, but there was a catch. To guarantee a spot on that coach's team I was going to have to volunteer. So Team Mom, that's me, along with 9 male coaches that I sometimes need to put in their place. It has kept me busy and I have enjoyed every moment. I think the little guy has too.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 256px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI1L8vgODYYblqfA2gJRAlZBLLbWwEjX_4HGWDL1Dy0naVcpUv4O6UYlRRXlPvKdNpoppcwCYDxtMkhRFyR7nLpKxc4H5dFHtwgCTnnJwiZsXuxW-Qrpw8Ce-QiCUkl8OTXtzkQg/s320/IMG00201.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5374868262313588930" />butterflygirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478785993576189511noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213851.post-51070252376566856662009-08-26T22:03:00.002-05:002009-08-26T22:07:05.115-05:00I miss all of you!!! I was hoping to have more time to blog, however baseball has taken up much of my time. Just about when the season is over, the little guy makes all-stars, and well, that is more time at the field. I enjoy it, don't get me wrong, however I can't bring my laptop to the field to read blogs, etc. Could I do it on my phone? Sure, but I am too darn lazy to read all your blogs from my crackberry. Thanks to Leigh, I decided to give my blog a much needed lift. I should be in bed cause I need to get up early...as it stands, I won't be getting the eight hours that my body needs. Hope to pay some visits this weekend.butterflygirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478785993576189511noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213851.post-25023788295350779422009-06-11T13:51:00.003-05:002009-06-11T14:10:13.450-05:00A Steam Train Excursion

butterflygirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478785993576189511noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213851.post-78233837778140854072009-06-08T13:05:00.004-05:002009-06-08T13:21:10.796-05:00The MunchkinI became an auntie on May 6th. The little munchkin decided not to wait in his mother's womb the whole 40 weeks of gestation. He felt 23 weeks would be a good time to come out. Thankfully, he has been doing really well. He will be 5 weeks old on Wednesday. The doctors and nurses are taking great care of him at the University of Chicago Comer's Children Hospital.

butterflygirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478785993576189511noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213851.post-18265266638028199802009-06-07T20:32:00.002-05:002009-06-07T20:34:37.253-05:00Just a quick check-in. I just love being a mom in the stands. I ended up as treat ticket mom this year, so all the kids will like me for sure!

Will post some pictures soon!butterflygirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478785993576189511noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213851.post-10841653807618836822009-04-14T18:46:00.004-05:002009-04-14T19:04:14.989-05:00RIG (Rest in Grease)As of today, I'm on my 4th BlackBerry. The 4th one within the last 16 months. The first two had issues with their ports which would not allow them to charge. They were replaced under warranty at no charge. The third one was fine until last, the night I killed it. For anyone who has a smartphone, you can relate to the addiction it creates. Originally I used the BlackBerry for e-mail, then for texting, and finally for twitterberry. So there on the counter sat my sunset red BlackBerry and there butterflygirl spilled the grease she had just drained from the ground sirloin on the counter all over the phone. I couldn't get upset, it was my fault plus the phone was insured. I filed my claim at 5:30 yesterday evening and had a new phone in my possession by 1:00 this afternoon. Although I had to pay a deductible, it sure beat having to buy myself a new CrackBerry.butterflygirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478785993576189511noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213851.post-91067277569118556722009-04-12T00:35:00.001-05:002009-04-12T00:39:25.408-05:00butterflygirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478785993576189511noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213851.post-48361612553518395402009-04-08T20:51:00.002-05:002009-04-08T21:03:39.674-05:00Quiet AgainThe little guy just loves spending time with his grandparents. Once again he is spending the night at their house. The plan is to color eggs tomorrow night while we skip basketball practice. We have a play date scheduled early Friday and then he will be off to his dad's later in the evening for the weekend. Saturday is a basketball game, birthday party, and baseball practice. Easter will be held at my house, and I'll be anxiously awaiting his arrival in the early evening.butterflygirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478785993576189511noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20213851.post-58256231594747229562009-04-06T20:15:00.004-05:002009-04-06T20:25:14.556-05:00Too QuietA Monday night and I am all alone. I usually can handle this on the weekends, but during the week, this is just killing me! The little guy is on spring break this week and Granny took vacation so she could watch him. To make things easier, he is spending the night tonight. I haven't seen him since this morning as I was on my way out the door. It feels so weird, silly I know, but I am unsure what to do with myself. I went out to dinner with my neighbors and then stayed at their home to chat for a while. This is a night when I could go to bed early, enjoy time to myself, and even be productive, but I'm just not feeling it. Maybe it is because he wasn't with me this past weekend. I don't know, but I what I do know is that I definitely can not wait until tomorrow afternoon to see him.butterflygirlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05478785993576189511noreply@blogger.com8
