I have the weekend to myself once again, however I can not believe this will end in less than 24 hours. I miss that handsome little guy of mine, however I really need time for myself. Emphasizing the word T-I-M-E.
The last time my son came home from a weekend from his father's was just pure hell, plus it continued the whole week. I actually had to pick him up from school one day because he totally wigged out on his teacher. He had to change his color due to his behavior and WOW he lost it. I know it was partially due to a reward he was working towards at home, but he has never freaked out like that at school. And let's not forgot putting my $15 pair of tweezers in the outlet of my vanity mirror. Yes, an outlet...yes, the lights went out....yes, there was a spark...yes, the tweezers melted. No, he did not get electrocuted...no, he did not get burned, ...no, a fire didn't start.
It turned out to be a full moon in the days to follow. Apparently it just hit my little guy a little sooner.

And So It Goes
We made it through our busy weekend. The little guy had a great game Saturday. Practice went well for him the night before. He happened to be the only one to make six shots in a row from certain points and both his coaches gave him $1. He was proud of that. This Saturday is his last game. I am looking forward to a little break before baseball begins in April-which we happened to sign up for this past weekend.
My little man was able to see his girlfriend from pre-school. It was her birthday party he was invited to, plus other girls he knew were there. Let's just say, he is the man.
We have managed to get to Episode V, chapter 4 on Star Wars. We haven't done much free play because he just wants to get to the end right now. I might have to engross myself with some Wii time just for me this weekend.
I have lots of pictures to post, but I am missing my camera cord at the moment. I know it is somewhere.

Busy, Busy, Busy
It has been a busy week...I mean a busy week! I've been reading your blogs...really, I have.
This week has marked the end of the semester...finals were given, projects completed, etc. I am glad tomorrow is Friday, however we have a busy weekend of events which include basketball, teaching at church, and a birthday party.

Wii Addiction
I haven't posted any of our Christmas pictures. Santa brought me this one...I only wished I could get on the Wii to play it. I have already made it past easy. I am struggling with medium-big time! I hope to play this weekend while the little guy is at his father's.
As for Star Wars...well this is really awesome! We have already made it through the first four episodes. I might have to get me some free play on this while I have it to myself. It can be difficult playing with a 6-year old. They know it all!Monday, January 7, 2008
Back To the Real World
Ah, back to normalcy...is that what I should call it? Maybe more of back to the routine/schedule of life as a student and teacher.
As much as I dreaded today, it went quite well. We were out the door earlier than usual. How could this be possible? No arguments with getting up this morning. The little guy got dressed, brushed his teeth, and even combed his hair (the weather was warm today, so not hat was needed). Last night everything was packed and ready to go.
It sure didn't seem like it had been two weeks since I had last been to work. The kids were just the same. I realized that the semester ends next week, finals need to be completed, and meetings to be held.
Then I got a call from the little man's school. Seeing the number I kept thinking, he can't be sick. Out at recess he happened to bump heads with another child and acquired quite a knot on his head near the temple area. The school of course applied ice as it swelled up as well as changed colors. He told the nurse he didn't feel well so I went and picked him up.
I was scared to go inside...what would I see? Thank God it was a minor bump that had gone down since I received the original phone call. I gave him some Motrin and tried to continue to apply ice. He is not off balance and his eyes seem well.
He told me the story of how it all took place. Kind of cute how he told it actually. I'm just glad that it wasn't much worse.
