Me Time

Time to myself...in 48 hours...let's see.

After writing my post Friday night, I went to bed because I was going out to breakfast with the neighbors before our HOA meeting. I totally splurged and had strawberry crepes...oh they were so yummy!

After the HOA meeting we walked down Main Street which was having it's annual sidewalk sale. I finished purchasing some pool noodles which will be used at the birthday party.

I then went to the vitamin store to take advantage of their 50% sale. After that, I made a trip to Costco with my mom to begin purchasing party food. Thank goodness my parents have the Costco membership!

I headed home for another shower and then was off to Chicago with a friend to the Cheesecake Factory. I indulged in Calamari, two Mimosa's, and the Santa Fe Salad. Delicious!!! We took the cheesecake to go--Key Lime for me--and went to see the parade of boats which is celebrated in Chicago as Venetian Night. I can't forget to mention that there were fireworks afterwards.

After service on Sunday I helped prepare for the youth conference.

My time was busy, however it was well spent.

Winding Down

Finally, a weekend alone. Well, 48 hours to myself, how about that? It has been some time since I have had that. Why is it that the time my little guy is with his father it goes by way too fast? Honestly, sometimes I feel I just need a longer break.

Summer is about over. Three more weeks and off to school I/we go. That means there has to be some structure within our daily lives. Yuk! I have already implemented being in bed by 9:30 (for my little man, not me). That gives me three weeks to go down in 30 minute increments. Wish me luck.

Bible school begins next week so that will help with a bedtime routine as well as a morning one. Hopefully it will put me in some type of groove.

I have one more adventurous trip planned for me and my little guy before school starts. I wanted to share these.

Birthday Party Planning

So in the midst of all this summer fun we are trying to plan a birthday party. Yep, the little guy will be six in a couple of weeks. We have a date set, guests to invite (he was limited to 10 friends), and a theme-Star Wars. We did this for his 4th birthday and he wanted to do it again. This time however it will be a little different. I'm working on the invites...

Young Jedi _____ has reached the age of SIX

and can now complete his training and

participate in the Jedi Trials.

Come prepared to battle Darth Vader and face the Trials of the Jedi Knights.

Amusement Park Fun

A trip to Six Flags...oh what fun we had!

A whole twelve hours of fun.
We went to shows, rode many rides, played some games, and of course, ate.
It couldn't have been a more perfect day.
This is summer vacation!

Kindergarten Physical

Today was the day we went to the doctor for the kindergarten check-up. Knowing that shots were to be given, a reward was in place...baseball cards...he is totally into baseball cards. Fortunately for the little guy he went with me to my doctor and rest assured was ready for his appointment 2 1/2 hours later. Ironically, I needed to get a shot today too, so he held my hand and witnessed mom's courage and strength. Somehow though, he ended up with a sticker and tattoo, me a prescription. He sat on the table being examined with giggles in tow. He not only hopped on one foot, but did so in a circle. The urine test, well not so easy. After drinking much water, he was able to fill up a cup plus some. He sat one my lap, held my hands, and counted as the nurse instructed. No tears, no cries, not even a whimper. Three shots and he was out of there. As we went to the car he said that he was now ready for kindergarten. I am not sure I am ready for kindergarten.
