I Am On Vacation

Yes, I am still here and summer has officially arrived. My little guy and I have been keeping busy.
  • house projects like staining the fence,
  • story hour at the library
  • participating in the summer reading program,
  • visiting & feeding the local ducks,
  • staying cool at the water park,
  • play dates,
  • trips to the movies,
  • oh, and let's not forget baseball!
It is hard to believe that today is the last day of June however I am so glad this month is finally over. It is a horrible month for me, one that seems to go on and on.

I miss you all. I will try to catch up with all of your lives this coming week.

A Trip to the Museum

One of the things I like best about where I live is the proximity to the city of Chicago. Whether it is a car drive or a train ride, going to the city is so much fun. Although now, I plan my trips to the city more for my little guy than for myself.

This week the Museum of Science and Industry is free. Yesterday my little man and I, along with Gramps, went to the museum. Opting to drive rather than taking the train (due to schedule conflict) we managed to enjoy six fun filled hours of creativity, imagination, and learning. From being coal miners to passengers on the Zephyr, we didn't miss an exhibit.

I love watching my son interact with his grandparents. It is so important that he has a relationship with them. Prior to my divorce, my little guy did not spend a lot of time with his maternal grandparents, however things are different now and that is all that really matters.

So Ready

As always, each day this past week has been crazy. It seems like everything intensifies at the end of the school year. Two more days to go; one with kids and one without. I am so ready.

My little guy starts summer camp on Monday. It's the same two week camp he participated in last year which integrates normal children with children who have disabilities.
We're all signed up for the summer programs at the library.
T-ball ends at the end of this month. I'm gonna miss it, as it has really been a fun-filled season.
Water park, here we come!
