April Showers

Rain rain go away,
Come again another day!

Rain doesn't bother me too much, however it has taken over most of the week here in my neck of the woods.

The yard needs to be cleaned. The little guy has missed out on baseball. No riding bikes. Forget those neighborhood walks.

Will these April showers bring May flowers?

My Gripe

There are times I struggle with how much more can I take. I mean honestly, here I am enrolling my little guy in school, sports, extra-curricular activities, etc. Here I am taking him to school, sports, and all those other extra-curricular activities. Here I am paying for school, sports, and every extra-curricular activity. And the poor little guy has no idea that his father does not help out at all except for the required child support that is garnished from his paycheck to meet daily living needs.

Ah, the weekend. The first real weekend I have had to myself in over a month. I love my little guy, but I just needed some "me" time and let's not forget some time with the girls as well. I was also able to get some laundry done uninterrupted-and when I mean done, I also mean folded and put away!!! The house is tidied up and tomorrow I will work on the meals for the week. Yep, you heard that right. Since I have started cooking once again, I am making my meals ahead of time. Off to read your blogs!!!

My All

When I think about being a parent, I think about giving my all. Is there something wrong with someone when they can't give more than what is considered a guideline?

Maybe that is just me.
Maybe I was meant to be a parent.
Maybe I enjoy being a parent.
Maybe I am able to sacrifice in order to be a parent.
May I was just ready to be a parent.
Maybe I have "grown up" to be a parent.

All I know is that I could not imagine...

one day going by without speaking to my son,
an evening of not reading stories to him at night as well as tucking him in,
not picking him up from school/daycare,
not being able to take part in hearing about the excitement in his day, or
missing out on him participating in a sport he loves whether it be practice or a game.

The bare minimum. Is that all you have?

Happy Easter/Passover!!!

Yes, I might be a day late here in blog world, however it was a day busy of celebration spent at church then with family as well as nurturing a sick child.

On His Way

It has been back to the real world this week, well at least for me. I'm back to work while my little guy has spring break.

Back in March, I enrolled my son in a private school for the 2007-2008 school year. My primary reason for doing so was so that he could participate in a full day kindergarten program. He loves school. What kid doesn't at this age? Learning to read, writing words, and doing mathematics; how fun children think it is to learn! We went to the open house, and when I say we, I mean his father as well. My little guy met his potential teacher, saw his future classroom, took a tour of the place, and was just so excited. He is counting down the weeks to his pre-school graduation.
