News Update

*SPORTS*
The day I do not bring my camera would be the day my little guy scores 5 goals, yes I said 5-AND-he scored 1 touchdown.

*TV*
I'm all caught up with my TV watching from the week. Tomorrow is the season premier for Desperate Housewives as well as Brothers & Sisters. McDreamy was dreamy as ever. Ugly Betty made me upset. Why did Santos have to die? That's right, he is going to be on that new show, Shark.

*TOOTH*
The tooth fairy came by with $1 which the little man added to his piggy bank. When I asked him what he was going to do with all his money, his response was to go to the dollar store, however he then quickly changed his mind to Toys R Us.

Happy Friday

Has this week gone by fast or what?

Here it is Thursday night...I need to watch Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy. I have to decide whether it will be worth it to lose some beauty rest or just wait until tomorrow evening to catch up.

The little guy has had a great week! Green everyday!!! Mornings have also been much better. I am kind of dreading Sunday evening as he will not have his normal routine this weekend since he will be with his dad.

Okay, I've decided to lose some sleep over McDreamy, who wouldn't? Plus the tooth fairy needs to make a stop.

Happy Friday!

Monday, Monday

Back to Monday already! Where did the weekend go?

Saturday was spent with a soccer game and a football game. Afterwards, the little guy and I ventured on a grocery shopping trip-somehow I actually totaled out under budget. We then went and purchased cornstalks to decorate outside for the beginning of the fall season. Somehow between all the running around and games, we both ended up taking a nap...like a two hour nap!!!

After going to church on Sunday we went by granny and gramps. The rest of the day was spent with me doing some yard work-this time cutting hedges-as well as a grandson being spoiled! Ending our day with a dinner prepared by gramps-shrimp scampi, weight watchers style.

I have to say I have been enjoying doing the yard work for my dad the last five weeks. As a parent we know how we want to provide/take care of our own children, however as an adult child I can not express the satisfaction I get by taking care of my parents. Granted, it is harder now as a single parent, but the emotion that I have felt knowing that I am giving back to them has simply been overwhelming.

Yes, It Is Almost Friday!

I can not tell you how happy I am that it is Thursday. The past three days have been insane. Not to mention that when my little guy came back from his dad's on Sunday there was some drama with him. Long story short his dad said something to him that basically hurt his feelings and I had to deal with questions like, "why does my dad hate me?" Not questions for me to answer, so I called up his father and let him try to explain what he meant...yada, yada, yada. To make matters worse, his teacher and the paraprofessional in his class noticed he was "different" on Monday. Tuesday his ride at the green light cautioned him to yellow. I could deal with that. However, yesterday his good behavior came to a completely halt...RED. Of course, he couldn't exactly remember how he got to red. A note to the teacher to call me was placed in his folder-I was definitely going to get to the bottom of this.

Today was much better...green. God heard his prayer. Amen.

Busy Week Ahead

Another busy week is underway. I am looking forward to Thursday knowing we don't have any activity planned for the evening. It is nights like these that really wear me down.

A Realization

Funny thing...you go through life wondering what is going to happen next or think you have it all planned out or even you accept what is happening at that very moment.

There was a time in my life I never even thought of what was going to happen. I just lived each day. I was grateful, had some dreams, and once thought it was perfect. That was until my fairy tale came crashing down.

I now accept my life for what it is. I am grateful for what God has given to me. I feel blessed each and every day. The trials and tribulations I have gone through have only made me stronger. I know where I stand now in my life. My happiness is emerging. Things are good.

I find myself questioning how could this be? But in actually I know why. I know that because of my obedience and faithfulness He supplies all of my needs.

News Update

First let me clarify that the tooth fairy was extra special due to the little man losing his first tooth.

In other news...

Open house went really well. However, I have to admit I was really bored during the service. The pastor is great, wonderful with the kids, but it is just that monotonous routine of going through motions and words that just doesn't excite me. The little guy showed me his desk...nice and clean I might add, now only if he could keep his room that way. The teacher had only positive things to say. It was refreshing to be told that my little guy displays leadership qualities. She realizes his potential and is challenging him. Having ten other little boys to hang out with all day he is smart enough to know when to remove himself from a troubling situation. I could go on and on and boast, but I'll stop. I'm just so proud to know that he is on target for success.

And finally, in remembrance of all of those who lost their lives during the tragic events of 9/11. It will be a day we will never forget.

I Survived the Action Packed Week.

I survived the action packed week. This week coming up will be somewhat laid back, however the week following will be a little insane.

*SCHOOL*
The little guy has math homework every night. I just love that he is so excited to do it. Once again he stayed on green for the week. Tomorrow is the open house after service at the church. He has been telling me all the things that he is going to show me. I can't wait. Things continue to go well for me at school. I do miss that summer is over. My tan is just about gone.

*SPORTS*
Today was a soccer game and the little guy scored 3 goals...boy was he hustling! He starts practicing for flag football this week. Mondays are soccer and Wednesdays will be football. Games for both are on Saturdays. I just hope these two sports are over when basketball begins next month.

*TOOTH*
The loose tooth finally came out! I was awaken (or should it be awoken) at 2:30 Friday morning--amazingly, he didn't swallow it while he was sleeping. The tooth fairy brought him $5 for that first tooth. I'm sure I didn't get a total of $5 for all the teeth I lost when I was younger.

Where Has the Week Gone?

Wow-can you believe today is Wednesday already! The last two days have been action packed and will continue to be so for the next four. Good thing I relaxed over the long weekend otherwise I would be going crazy right now! I guess I can give that whole routine thing credit. Without it, I would probably be pulling out my hair about now.

We had a bad evening the night my son came home from his father's. Like I have mentioned before, we go through spurts such as these. Soccer is going on, flag football starts soon, and let's not forget basketball. Evaluations are 9/18 and all the candy needs to be sold by the end of the month. His open house for school is Sunday after they sing at chapel. Now I'll get to know what is really going on and not have to listen to the "I don't know" or "Nothing" answer.

I'm down fifteen pounds...I need to keep it going. The doctor is going to be happy since he has been on my case this year to lose ten pounds. I miss walking in the evenings like I was able to do in the summer, plus that was at least some conversation with another adult.

I'm beat...we were at the circus this afternoon...and it was hot here! Have a good rest of the week!

The End of Summer

Labor Day Weekend...the end of summer.

Hard to believe that autumn is coming our way. Leaves are starting to change colors. The evenings are getting darker earlier. The cool air awakens us in the morning.

This is one of my favorite seasons, however I hate the allergies that come along with it.

I have been able to relax today as I prepare for a busy week ahead. Laundry is getting done. The house is getting cleaned. Grocery shopping has been completed. Tomorrow I will teach at church all day and then head over to my parents house so I can do the lawn for my dad, as he supervises me of course. I'll be spending Monday with my mom-shopping!

Lots of things going on...school is going well for the little guy...and me, well there are no complaints!

Enjoy the end of summer!
