Family

I am having some difficulty writing a post today. There are quite a few things going on in my life that I would like to share with all of you, however most of you lack the prior knowledge and then it just becomes too damn difficult to even try to explain. So all I ask, is if you will keep me in your prayers as I try to let Him take care of things.

On a brighter note...

I was so excited today when I saw my long lost cousin. I see his daughter more than I see him. Let's hope that changes, okay? You see, he reads my blog!!! Yes, HE READS MY BLOG!!! Alright, so I am getting a little too excited here, but I didn't know!!! So, now when I go to sitemeter and I see that location of Wisconsin come up, babe I know it is you. I want you to know I miss you and love you so much. BTW-I'm still thinking of an alias for ya.

That brings me to family. I have always been closer to my mother's side of the family. I feel that is in part due to the ignorance my father's side had to him marrying a Puerto Rican. Amazingly enough I had a very strong relationship with my maternal grandmother and with my two of my cousins (both males) that were my age. As we were younger we grew up together. Whether it was playing in the field, trying to burn down an igloo, putting firecrackers in the swing set, or even having to eat food that was on the table (liver for example-yuck) we were like the three musketeers. Don't get me wrong, those two picked on me, but they also protected me.

We saw our families change a lot over time, some for good, some for bad, and some for just plain old craziness. By the time the three of us graduated from high school, our lives were going in all sorts of different directions. As our lives were changing, our grandmother was dying of cancer. After we lost our grandmother our closeness began too drift. The three of us experienced marriage, children, death, divorce, job changes, moves, and much more. But you know what the best part is? No matter what we have been through, where we live, or who we are with, it always feels just like yesterday when I am with them.

But of course you will be in my prayers. I pray that you will discover clarity and solutions to the obstacles that are at your path currently.

I completely can understand the excitement of seeing a cousin that you once had a common contact with. I had this experience recently and how beautiful it was.

Your memories are priceless . . .

Today I chanced to meet an old buddy of mine online. I used to live in India and then moved to the united states in October 1997. I still remember the day I left for an unknown land leaving everybody behind. Today yy friend said that he cried that night but he realized that life had to go on! I have been thinking that so many things have changed in my life since then. But as you have said everything seems like yesterday...I don't know why it has to be this way. The very thought of it brings tears to my eyes. But Life is change!

Thinking of you and hoping you find a way to get through whatever problem you are facing at the moment *hugs*

Often, when the one person that holds a family together passes away, it is so easy to drift apart. It's great that you can still feel close without seeing them every day but still feel the bond is there when you meet up.

You are definitely in my prayers flygirl and there's no need to explain things. What a gift it is to be able to ask for prayers.

I'm happy that you are connected to your family. It is amazing to have the kind of connection you have. That is not something everyone is blessed with.

Take care.

P.S. How is the pinata coming?

That is what we call life.. with full sets of problems and obstacles; and happy moments too. Glad that in the midst of your sadness, you're able to remember back the nice memories with your cousins. My heart goes to you.. just be strong girl and just want you to know that we're here with our prayers to you..
