Waxing

Waxing, also known as hair removal, can become an addiction.

Years ago I started waxing my upper lip as well as my brows. Since I have dark hair I have always had a "mustache". I remember being in middle school having to "bleach" it. I hated it. I was so mad that I had all of this hair. Why couldn't I be blonde? Then it wouldn't show as much. So after "bleaching" I started with the "Nair". I finally got to a point where "Nair" wasn't taking it off. I finally decide to divulge and pay someone to wax it off. There was no way I was going to cause pain to myself.

I get my upper lip done at least once every 4-6 weeks depending on how much I can bear with it. I usually pluck as they grown in, but somehow I just can't keep up with all of those hairs. I also have a tendency to favor plucking my right side. The same goes for the brows, however I can go longer before I break in and get them waxed.

Now for some odd reason I have started waxing the underarms. I have to say I just got tired of shaving those all the time. All I could wonder is if it was going to be worth the $35 and how long was it going to last. I let the hair grow out for a good three weeks before heading in to the spa (it would have been two but I had to re-schedule). During that time of growth I was not bothered by that excess hair, I take that back, only when I saw it in the mirror. The pain was not so bad; it was an after-effect feel. So far it has been worth it. Although hairs are starting to return they are not the dark, nor are they coarse. There is no stubble. Let's see when I have to give in.

What's next? I'm thinking the legs.

My mom has offered to do it-I'm just not sure if I'm willing to let her.
